Coolidge Park was the place for families today as thousands gathered on the city’s North Shore to celebrate Kids Day, sponsored by the city of Chattanooga, Chattanooga Parent, Emily’s Power for a Cure, and Greater Chattanooga Orthodontics.

Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield and his wife, Lanis, were among those threading through the crowd of parents and children enjoying live music, storytelling, food, and kids’ activities and crafts. Little ones were playing with parachutes and bouncing on inflatables, and older children were hulahooping, throwing frisbees and even racing wheelchairs – while parents simply enjoyed a free event during the Scenic City’s first cool, breezy day in weeks.

Fun with parachutes!

Bob Dorough, jazz pianist and the legend behind the School House Rock – a collection of ubiquitous educational songs since the 1970′s – took the stage at 1:00 and shared his massive talent with the crowd.
