Talking Teachers

The Chattanooga Parent Magazine loves celebrating teachers and the families that they impact.  This summer we shared Riverbend pins, tickets to the Chattanooga Zoo and other goodies with area families via Facebook and here is what some of them said…..

Jenny Cooper Lang says thanks to…..

Erica Kizzee Holloway, kindergarten teacher at Battle Academy!

I was so nervous when my son started school and she made it so much easier! I have great praise for all the teachers there but she’s got a special place with me!! Teachers truly have a tough job. So much is expected of them but they are not thanked nearly enough! I am so thankful for each and every one who chooses to help us mold our little people! Thanks!

Renee Gibbs says thanks to…..

Leann Maretti, 3rd Grade at Wallace A. Smith Elementary, Ooltewah.

She is one of the finest at HCDE. Thank you!

Mark K Simpson says thanks to…..

Carole Miller, a recently retired English teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School.

She was a middle school teacher that made sure our kids and many generations before them understood how to read and write the King’s English. Both of my children have gone on to excel at Notre Dame High School in English because she did more than attempt to teach, she made sure each student LEARNED the subject matter.              “Mrs. Miller was a tough, yet compassionate teacher. She challenged her students to push themselves past their limits. To most students, Mrs. Miller was not just a teacher. She taught her students to be confident in everything they do, and to not conform to the standards set by the modern world. She taught that in order to be heard, you must first have a solid voice. Her dedication to teaching really brought out the best in her students and made them work, think, and believe. This is something that her students will take with them for the rest of their lives.”

Kristin Sena Gadd says thanks to…..

Carol Minnis is the absolute best ~ Grace Baptist Academy!

She is wonderful and tenderhearted and goes above and beyond:)

Jennifer Goins Tate says thanks to…..

Sharon Wilsie at NPMM. After the storms in April, my son was terribly afraid any time it rained. She did everything she could to comfort him and help him get through those rainy days following the storms (and there were plenty of them). Thank you Ms. Wilsie!
