Summer may be coming to a close but there’s no reason to be “blue”. Instead, get on your dancing shoes and celebrate the summer’s end Bessie Smith style by attending the 4th annual Bessie Smith Heritage Festival. The outdoor festival will arrive with great food, fun, art, and music on Saturday, August 20 from 5 pm – midnight on grounds of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center located in the mecca of Chattanooga on 200 E. Martin Luther King Boulevard.
This year’s musical line up includes: neo soul artists, Avery*Sunshine and Tonya Dyson; jazz guitarist, Eric Essix; Chattanooga’s contemporary gospel recording artist, T-Ran Gilbert, legendary blues musician, Bobby Rush; and headlining the 2011 festival is Grammy Award Winning R&B artist, Chrisette Michele.
