Teen/parent book club at the Central Library

The Central Library of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Bicentennial Library has a special book club for teens and their parents. This program, Kindred Connections, will be held in the auditorium of the library at 1001 Broad St.

Participants should read the featured book before each meeting. The library has a limited number of advanced, pre-published copies of each book available for free. E-mail Della Phipps at Phipps_D@lib.chattanooga.gov or call 757-5310 for information on where to pick up a free copy (while supplies last) of each of the featured books.

Here are the book club selections and meeting times for January and February:

Saturday, Jan. 30: The Secret of the Yellow Death: a True Story of Medical Sleuthing by Suzanne Jurmain. In this nonfiction medical mystery, four American doctors, along with their Cuban compatriots, try to stop the spread of yellow fever on the island of Cuba.

Saturday, Feb. 27: Ghost Huntress: The Guidance by Marley Gibson. When a classmate begins delving into the paranormal world, it is up to Kendall and her ghost team to persevere over the evil now plaguing their small town of Radisson, Ga. This is the second book in the Ghost Huntress trilogy.
