Southside art auction benefits Why Know
Chair Affair, a live and silent art auction benefiting Chattanooga nonprofit Why Know, will take place Nov. 15 at Loose Cannon Studios at 1800 Rossville Avenue. This third annual event will feature chairs that have been hand-painted by local and regional artists.
“Each year this event continues to grow and attract outstanding artistic talent,” says Lesley Scearce, executive director of Why Know. “It’s so much fun to see the different designs and ideas that the artists come up with—no two chairs are the same.”
Ranging from children’s chairs to bar stools, unique seats representing the work of 40 different artists, as well as other art and specialty items, will be up for bids. Beginning in October, featured chairs will be displayed throughout downtown and the Northshore in storefront windows. Bidders can also view the chairs at WhyKnow.org.

The event will also feature live music and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Tickets for Chair Affair are $25 per person or $40 per couple. All proceeds will benefit Why Know’s youth outreach programs.
